Marvel & DC Comic Characters That Should Be In Film:

This is more of an opinion based article but I have noticed both Marvel and DC missing great chances to bring some heavy hitting monsters to the big screen or from the background to center stage in their own storylines.  Sure we’ve seen the Joker, Ghost Rider, Green Goblin, Two-Face, Lizard, over and over but here is a list of real Monsters that I think should have major roles in films for future consideration:

Marvel Comics Vermin: Under the streets of NYC isn’t just The Punisher, but a half man/half rat villain named Vermin.  He could appear in most any Marvel title from Spiderman to Daredevil to The Punisher. Vermin
DC Comics Swamp Thing: From the city sewers to back woods swamps lurks a monster so strange, Swam Thing! Bring this monster back and maybe even do a cross over and have him fight Marvel’s swamp monster: Man-Thing.  (see below) SwampThing
Marvel Comics The Man-Thing: Seriously this is almost an exact copy of Swamp Thing.  Both should fight it out and see who is the King of the Swamps.  Would make for an epic cross over event. Man-Thing_Vol_1_1
DC Comics Man-Bat:  Who needs to wear a cape and cowl with a bat logo on your chest when you can just transform yourself into a human sized real bat?  One of my favorite of Batman’s Rogues Gallery of Villains. This monster was featured a few times in the Animated Series, how about bringing this one to life for a live action appearance? ManBat
DC Comics Solomon Grundy: Sticking with DC Comics and the Batman realm  this Golem/Zombie is a pure monster indeed.  While usually depicted in media as pretentious and typical character, this monster could provide more depth to the Batman world if done seriously. Besides he even has a creepy poem: Solomon Grundy, Born on a Monday, Christened on Tuesday, Married on Wednesday, Took ill on Thursday, Grew worse on Friday, Died on Saturday, Buried on Sunday. That was the end, Of Solomon Grundy Solomon_Grundy_0021
Marvel Comics Universal Classic Monsters: And we can’t forget Marvel Comics series derived from Universal Studios famous team of monsters. These comics were independent titles but also crossed over to each other and even over to DC Comics where Batman fought Dracula.  Universal is already in process of rebooting these movies so why not Marvel bring back their versions for characters in major films? You could even have Frankenstein’s Monster fight Solomon Grundy?  These are just my ideas, what obscure villain or comic monster you’d like to see in a DC or Marvel film?  I saw we bring them all back!!
